The complex design of this unique project presented some interesting challenges. The historic facade of De Markies had to be restored to its former glory, and the modern facade on Wagenstraat was a three-dimensional puzzle made up of heavy stone blocks. On the one hand, Senta had to be particularly creative in “replicating” the design; on the other hand, a high level of mathematical thinking was required.
An innovative anchoring system was therefore used for De Markies. The organic and detailed design resulted in varying distances between the natural stone and the framework, which required Senta to design 180 unique anchors. De Markies project gave us the opportunity to show our craftsmanship.
